Bad Moon Saloon is a new production company in Victoria, BC, exclusively focusing on burlesque and performance art that speaks to us.
We value creative self-expression, passion, and inclusivity above all else. We hope to craft experiences that make people feel inspired and to provide space that makes everyone involved feel safe and uplifted. Our name, Bad Moon Saloon, is a playful nod to our common love of the moon, and of course, our naughty alter-egos *wink*.
We are so excited to bring our vision to life, curated just for you.
Team
We are made up of three members:
Luna Lavender:
Having grown up playing and performing music, whilst exploring a multitude of other art forms, Luna Lavender finally came to burlesque in 2018. She feels that she has now found the language she had been yearning to learn for a long time.
Luna began to study burlesque with Miss Rosie Bitts in Victoria, BC. Graduating from both Rosie's beginner’s and intermediate classes, Luna had her burlesque stage debut in December 2018 at The Brand New Boobies Show.
Constantly dreaming up new visions and ideas, Luna’s passion for creating beautiful and strange art has allowed her to grow beyond performing and thus get involved with producing.
After co-creating the variety show "Flowers For Leonard - An Evening of Music, Dance, Poetry & Burlesque“ in Chinatown March 2019, Luna Lavender couldn’t be more excited to now have partnered up with the awesome new team of Bad Moon Saloon to bring you new and exciting shows!
Hana Del Lay:
Hana Del Lay is the alter-ego of an academic, looking for an outlet for her creativity.
Having grown up in the world of theatre and music, Burlesque feels like a coming-home of sorts to Hana. As a performer, she is playful and modern but likes to bring in elements of glamorous, classical burlesque. As a co-producer, she hopes to bring diverse acts to the stage to showcase the range of human experience in creative and magical ways. She can't wait to begin this adventure with Bad Moon Saloon.
Master Bateman:
Local performer, artist and malcontent. Source of overly serious dance and spoken word striptease. Works well backstage, looks good on stage.
